MISSION HILLS (CNS) - A fire that broke out along San Diego (405) Freeway closed northbound lanes today as firefighters worked to put out the blaze, which was burning under an elevated section of freeway near its junction with the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway.
The fire was reported about 3:05 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department's spokesman Erik Scott said. California Highway Patrol officers closed northbound lanes near Nordhoff Street shortly afterward.
No structures were threatened, Scott said.
Some firefighters took up defensive positions near homes that were threatened by the flames, according to broadcast reports.
