The new president of the Centinela Valley School District board says he wants nothing to do with Superintendent Jose Fernandez.
Hugo Rojas was named president during a marathon six-hour board meeting yesterday. He replaced Martiza Molina, who had been a strong supporter of Fernandez.
Fernandez was placed on leave because of his pay deal that made him $674,000 in 2013. Rojas wasted no time saying what he thinks of Fernandez.
“Our superintendent was greedy,” said Rojas.
“Our superintendent obviously has a questionable background.”
The board also voted to hire investigators and lawyers to look into Fernandez's contract.
