PALMDALE (CNS) - Two men and a woman suspected in a string of robberies that began in 2011 have been charged with 72 counts including armed robbery, kidnap for robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon, the Sheriff's Department said today.
The suspects -- Marcus Robinson, 24, Mehealani Austin, 25, and Brooke Hollins, 22, all of Palmdale -- were arrested Wednesday at two separate locations after a surveillance and search warrant operation, said Deputy T. Ruiz of the sheriff's Lancaster station.
Authorities allege they committed a string of robberies that occurred throughout the Antelope Valley between 2011 and 2012, in which armed, masked suspects entered businesses and sometimes forced the employees into back rooms of the businesses to open safes, the deputy said.
Ruiz said the Lancaster station's Robbery Suppression Team served multiple search warrants and conducted several surveillance operations during its investigation of the crimes.
A firearm and other evidence related to the crimes were found at the locations where the suspects were arrested.
All three suspects are being held in lieu of $1 millon bail each.
Detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the string of robberies to call them at (661) 948-8466.
