LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Fire Department says three teenage girls are hospitalized in critical condition after they were hit by a car in North Hollywood on Wednesday.

The collision took place near a freeway on-ramp.

A spokesman for the fire department says the driver who allegedly hit the girls was also taken to a local hospital. He is expected to survive.

All three teenage victims attend a North Hollywood school. The fire department says it is working with school officials to notify families of the victims.
